COUNTY DARTS
Saved by the three dartateers! is all i can say Irene Mcinness from Armadale was the only
lady to secure a victory on Sunday and it was not any better for the men with only John Hanlon from MidCalder and Jim Mitchell
from Dedridge winning their matches.
But the whole story is not just the results with 5 men missing from the county 'A' team
who would have played should they have been there to be picked! It fell onto some new players who had not played in the counties
before to fill those places and that they did. Many of the games went the distance and it was that final double
that just went astray that cost us dear. But to be honest East Renfreshire were a top class team and when you consider they
had 15 county players just trying to get into there 'B' side and only 6 can play in the 'B' i think that about says it all.
We had only 17 players to pick both A and B team squads from. The players are out there but if they dont turn up ( i
ask the question what can you do! )
Maximum 180 hitters on the day were John Hanlon/Hugh Rice/Jim Mitchell
